So, I have returned to the normal life. And this has been probably the longest week in the history of weeks. But, there is much to look forward to, and so much shit happening I can't seem to sit still to do even the simplest of tasks. At least the excitement never fails to cease. Since I am basically back to the same routine, I thought I would just do a few newsbites to cover my unnecessary quota. Here we go:
Fense handed me off a 20 pound bag of CD's when I met with him at the Empire Ale House in Mount Vernon for beers and crab quesadillas. So, I have alot of great music to hear and review over the next coming months, one of which has already gone up, and is likely to be one of my favorites of 2010 - Transient Song's Cave Syndrome. Here is that one, and few more that have come up as of recently:
Bambara: Dog Ear Days [Album Review]
Neil Nathan: The Distance Calls [Album Review]
Transient Songs: Cave Syndrome [Album Review]
A great ironic point of all three of these records is that they also represented by my three favorite publicity folks i have had the personal joy of working with:
Bambara - Team Clermont (Bill Carter has been absolutely amazing with hooking a brother up!)
Neil Nathan - Green Light Go! Publicity (Janelle Rogers is quite the savvy businesswoman!)
and last but certainly not least:
Transient Songs - XO Publicity (Portland based, laced with talent, Kaytea deserves to be proud of what she does. And she is persistant as hell! I love it.) (p.s. And a huge thank you to her, but The Winebirds. Wow!)
Also, one of my favorite pop grounds released their second album in less than a year:
A Fine Day For Sailing: Sand Box [Album Review]
So, there is my less than subtle shout outs to a few of the finest people in the music business. It is folks like them that keep the industry from diving into the sea of disaster that the music world should rightly be in. If it weren't for these independent seeking Holden Caulfied like creatures, we wouldn't be stuck with the Hinders and Creeds of the world as our only options. Thank you so much for everything that you do!

I had a cool little blurb in the Pacific Northwest Inlander. I've been trying to get some stuff published there for a while, but to no real avail. I might have to try a bit harder I guess. But, I did send a photo in for their "Photographer's Eye" section. Didn't get in the physical edition, but it made their online blog. Check it out HERE

I've got a few shows I will be covering in the coming weeks. Looks like three grand trips to Spokane's Empyrean Coffee House are in order. The good people at Tender Loving Empire (a premiere label in PDX) are kind enough to remember Spokane when their group's hit the streets running (our touring).
On September 4th, the Idaho based Finn Riggins will be playing their pretty little folk set.
On September 11th, the greatest one man show in Portland is making his rounds. Hello, Boy Eats Drum Machine!
On October 6th (date yet to be confirmed, but fingers crossed) Jared Mees & The Grown Children will bring their pretty little ditties to the Lilac City.
I'm hoping to make it to each of these shows. But, as you know I have a shit ton of kids and a real job that takes up alot of freaking time. So, we shall see. And remember to watch for updates here and at Fensepost.com for the absolute best live reviews.

The band of TART Productions and their affiliates all seem to becoming well indowed as the summer reaches it's end. The fall will prove a great time of release and rejoice. New stuff from the likes of Christopher Eaves, Steve Sessions, Amanda Gonser, Fenbi International Superstars, and more is sure to be exciting. Watch for these highlights coming soon!
